Vienna study
- Vienna University of Medicine, in co-operation with "market mind" has evaluated the success of Allen Carr's Easyway courses to stop smoking. The scientific supervisor of the survey was University Prof. Dr. Manfred Neuberger of the Institute for Environmental Health:
- “We have also performed other evaluation studies on the subject of non-smoking. No other method of habit-breaking could come close to the success rate after 12 months of Allen Carr's Easyway.”

Summary results:
- 53.3% success rate for the Easyway courses after 12 months
- 80% of smokers had tried to give up smoking before attending Allen Carr's course and succeeded to stay stopped for only 3 days
- 86.3% experience a sense of triumph and gain, because they no longer smoke
- 58.1% claim that after 12 months their state of health is “better” or “much better”
A recommendation by the Austrian Board for Tobacco & Health was at the origin of this study. The aim was to find a solution to the smoking problem in Austria.
